Agentic Foundations Session 1 Recap: Intelligent Orchestration in Action
In our new Agentic Foundations webinar series, we’re diving deep into all things agentic starting at the ground floor. Whether you’re already off to a strong start or if you’re struggling to get PoC’s into production, this series is designed to address the core challenges of implementing Agentic AI and provide actionable insights you can put into play.
Highlights from Our Latest Session
Ashling and UiPath kicked off the Agentic Foundations series with a bold look at intelligent business process orchestration, digging into ways that real leaders have harnessed humans, robots, and AI agents together for enterprise transformation.
- Orchestration Unlocked: Ashling’s own Marshall Sied and UiPath’s Principal Product Manager Robert Love explore how combining human intuition, digital automation, and agentic AI within standardized frameworks like BPMN 2.0 drives adaptability and consistent governance for evolving organizations. “Business process orchestration… really means keeping automations running, flowing and improving over time,” Robert Love emphasized, reminding the audience that orchestration must support change, feedback, and governance at scale.
DEEP DIVE
BPMN 2.0 is the international standard graphical notation for modeling business processes, used to create clear, visual diagrams that represent a process's flow. It serves as a common language, ensuring that business analysts, developers, and stakeholders can collaborate effectively, understand processes more easily, and even use the diagrams for technical implementation and automation.
- Composability Matters: Live demonstrations showcased how hybrid automation spans multiple systems (UiPath, Microsoft, Snowflake, Databricks, Salesforce) and platforms, connecting best-in-class agents and people to solve complex challenges. Marshall and Robert discussed how composable architectures and open standards allow organizations to switch effortlessly between human, bot, and agent steps as needs evolve, making change management more agile than ever.
- Continuous Intelligence: Attendees saw why closing the loop — leveraging process mining and analytics — creates transparent, continuously improving operations that are explainable, auditable, and ready for scale. Marshall noted, “Process intelligence is not a one time X-ray… but a continuous improvement technology that does close that loop,” demonstrating how transparency and explainability are essential to mass AI adoption in large enterprises.
What This Means for You
The central lesson is clear — success in intelligent automation isn’t about isolated bots or siloed AI, but building a cohesive, governed digital fabric across all your enterprise actors. As Marshall Sied shared, “You need process orchestration and you need process intelligence. But they are not the same… [though] they are very, very interconnected.”
This means your automation strategy must support constant learning and adaptation. Standardized frameworks like BPMN 2.0 allow you to swap human-in-the-loop activity for agent steps as business needs shift, while composable integration across platforms maximizes flexibility and future-proofs your investment.
Continuous process intelligence powers ongoing discovery, simulation, and improvement, revealing hidden bottlenecks and opportunities for change. With full audit trails, transparency, and robust governance, your digital enterprise achieves not just speed, but trust and resilience at scale.
